Content policy

Not allowed

• Illegal content, or content that promotes or helps with illegal activity.
• Sexual content involving minors of any kind. We remove it, end the account and report it to the authorities as the law requires.
• Non-consensual intimate images, real or generated.
• Harassment, threats or doxxing: targeting someone, or publishing where they live or other details that identify or locate them.
• Other people's private data, such as names with contact details, emails, messages or screenshots of private conversations.
• Secrets: tokens, API keys, passwords, private keys or credentials, yours or anyone else's. Check screenshots and notes before you share a day.
• Copyright infringement: code, images or text you don't have the right to post. See Copyright in the Terms of service.
• Spam and ads: advertising, affiliate links, link farming or repeated posts made to promote something rather than show your work.

What happens if a rule is broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may:

• remove the note, image or share link;
• suspend the account for a time; or
• ban the account, for serious or repeated cases. A ban deletes its notes, images and share links and stops the same GitHub, GitLab or Codeberg account from signing up again.

Illegal content can also be reported to the authorities. Where the law requires it, we tell you what we did and why.

How to report content

If you see something on Codecember that breaks these rules, use the Report link under the shared day. Every shared page has one, and it works without an account. You can also email [contact address: coming soon] with the link and what is wrong with it.

How to object to a decision

If we removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or write to [contact address: coming soon] . Tell us why, and we will look at the decision again.
